What a great class today. Day two is always awesome.
As we get to know each other better, we transition from a room full of individuals to a united and creative group of friends. Ideas exchange like neurons, and the “ah-ha” light bulbs go off by the dozens.
This is what it’s all about.
After giving them their first assignment, “Vision,” the students headed out, eager to create fresh visual ideas. I can’t wait to see what they bring back.
We shot the family holiday photos in house again. This year was my first experience shooting in high key. This is one of my favorite out-take frames. Of all of the families I photograph, mine seem to be the most challenging. Of course, it adds a few layers of complexity when I’m the lighting tech, the set director, the photographer, the dad, and the subject all in every frame. This year I bribed the boys with a promise to go to the toy store and pick a little something out if they posed well and cooperated – and, well – as you can see by the look on Hugh face, they both brought their A game. It turned out to be a great shoot. The boys did superb and earned a few just rewards – and I can’t wait to get the holiday cards sent out to friends and families!
